Month #5

Logan turned five months on October 27th! We can't believe how fast time has flown. This month has been particularly exciting. He has learned how to push himself up into a sitting position. He has also learned to crawl. You leave him on one side of the room and he ends up on the other side of the room! He is such a happy baby...always laughing and smiling. He's still very loud and screams with happiness whenever he can. He is now sleeping in his crib, in his own room and since we moved him into his own room, he has slept through the night. (Except for a few nights after the time-change...yuck!) One night, we woke up at 3 a.m. to the sound of music. Lo-B had decided to entertain himself in the middle of the night by turning on his aquarium toy that is attached to his crib. Daddy went to get him and was greeted by a huge smile. "Look what I can do, Daddy!" He's still a wiggle-worm. It has become increasingly more difficult to change his diaper...he just wants to move all around. At bath-time, Mommy gets drenched. Logan thinks it's loads of fun to kick his legs and splash water all over the place and all over Mommy! We just love having this boy and can't wait to see what November brings...

Halloween was so much fun! We can't wait until Logan is old enough to really go trick-or-treating! (Then Mommy and Daddy will get even more candy...ha!)

Lo-B and Grandma Helen!

The daddys and the babies!

We all got together at Auntie Summer's and Uncle Bryan's house to go trick-or-treating. We were a Peter Pan theme! Colin was Peter Pan, Caleb was a pirate, Lo-B was the crocodile, and Allie was Tinkerbell. We also had a lost boy, Lucas, and Hailey the adorable witch, but they were camera shy during pictures!

Lo-B with Granna Diane and Grandpa!

Lo-B with Gung-Gung!

Watch out...he's coming to get ya!

He looks so thrilled, doesn't he?

We went to the pumpkin patch with the Bowers family and the Swearengins. It was a bit windy, so Uncle Sam gave Logan his hankie to put over his head.

He loves rolling over and showing his mommy and daddy how strong he is!

This month has been so exciting! One night I was in the kitchen making dinner. I came out of the kitchen and found Logan sitting up. I asked Robert if he left Logan in that position and he said "no, I don't think so".... So we put him back onto his tummy and watched as he pushed himself onto his doopah, sitting straight up! Of course, he's fallen backwards onto his poor little head a few times, but...he'll get the hang of it soon, I'm sure. : )

He's 4 months old!

Yeah...it's not quite so easy to get a good picture as it once was. Logan prefers to not sit still. He wants to be mobile at all times!

Here is a picture of Logan being out little turtle when he peeks his head out of his crib!

He loves to roll over and have tummy time...but he just can't wait to crawl!

Here he is being a little seal...

Months #3 & #4

It's been a long time since we last posted. Sooo many exciting moments have happened during these last two months.

Kadie went back to work. Not so much fun. It's been a difficult transition, but we're getting through. Kadie gets to leave Logan with Robert in the morning, so that makes life a little easier!

Robert has been moved all around the bay area Fuddruckers. He was working mostly in Walnut Creek, but has been recently transferred to Dublin and Emeryville. This move is much nicer on the gas mileage, which we appreciate.

Now onto the good stuff....

Logan, or Lo-B as we like to call him, is thriving! Right now, he is a whopping 17 lbs. 9 oz. (90th percentile again!) Woah! All that weight, and only getting Mama's milk! (Must be whipping cream!) He has been rolling over from his back to his tummy since a week before turning 3 months old. Every time we put him on his tummy, he rolls over, and then proceeds to get upset when he can't crawl around. We call him our little seal or little turtle when he pushes himself up and peaks over his bassinet or crib to look out at his world.

Logan is beginning to giggle! He will look at one of us and give us a big gummy smile! Every now and then, he'll even give us belly laughs! He loves his baby massages and being sung to. He'll even look at the colorful pages of a book as we read to him!

Car rides aren't quite as rough as they once were. He still prefers to not be in his carseat, although we can almost make it out to see Grandma Hurricane Mary without him crying, (but not round-trip). We owe tribute to Elton John...his music is what Logan has come to prefer. He makes night-time and car rides much more enjoyable. Logan loves to go outside. He loves the fresh air. He is beginning to play with certain toys...Mommy and Daddy think it's so adorable! (Our favorite pasttime is just watching him.)

Grocery stores or any store, without the other parent, is still a little scary...but Logan seems to enjoy being carried in the Bjorn. He loves being able to observe everything that is going on around him. He also enjoys when our family goes for an evening stroll to our local coffee shop! He was made famous when the coffee shop owner put his picture in their monthly newsletter! He was their youngest patron!

These past 2 months, Logan was able to attend a 1st birthday party for his cousin, Nadia. He went to a 2nd birthday for his cousin, Lucas. He also went to a game night and met some very silly relatives.

During the week, Logan gets to see Aunt Tanya and Uncle Sam (they babysit two days a week). He also gets to see Grandpa Ed and Granna Diane (they babysit on Tuesdays). On Fridays, he visits and is babysat by Grandma Helen! We are so blessed to have such wonderful family living closeby. As usual, we get lots of visitors who just can't stay away from our little Lo-B!

Enjoy the pictures and join us as we pray for a good napping schedule...or just any napping schedule...

Month #2...

Logan turned two months this month. As you can see, sometimes he enjoys having his picture taken and sometimes he doesn't. The month of July has brought many changes. Mommy has been able to take a few trips outside of the house, with Logan, and has not had to abandon any carts or shopping items. Yay! We had our two-month check up and Logan is thriving, of course! He now weighs a whopping 13 lbs. 11 oz. What an eater! (90th percentile!) He is now 23 1/4 inches long (50th percentile) and his head is 40 1/2 cm (50th percentile).

We began this month by going to a 4th of July celebration out in Manteca at Grandma Mary's house. This trip made Mommy and Daddy never want to travel with Logan again! He didn't adjust very well to being in a new environment. Oh well...we're sure he'll grow out of that, though. Logan also attended his very first wedding, but he spent most of the wedding eating.

We also threw a party in honor of Logan. This party is a Chinese tradition called a "Red Egg and GInger" party. Traditionally, this is when the baby and mom were considered well enough to be publicly presented. Logan got to meet so many relatives. Mommy and Daddy were so proud of our little man. He was so well behaved and didn't fuss at all. (Keep up the great work, Logan!)

This month we also experienced some great milestones. Logan has learned how to socially smile! We love having him give us that wonderful, "gummy" smile! He has also started having "conversations" with us. He'll be on his changing table. We'll say something to him and he'll coo back at us. It's the most wonderful sound in the world!

Logan loves to suck on his hands.

Mommy and Daddy love taking loads of pictures of Logan. We think he's quite photogenic!

Logan gets visitors all of the time. This time his cousin Hailey came over to play. Here she is giving him a kiss.

Here is Daddy, vigorously trying to get Logan to take a bottle. Logan's not too sure about this whole bottle thing...

This month Logan attended his very first surprise birthday party for his cousin, Dagny. (HAppy birthday, Dags!) Here is a picture of almost all of the kids from Logan's generation, (on Grandma Mary's side. )

This month, Logan was also presented at his Red Egg and Ginger party, a traditional Chinese celebration.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Logan so far.... Here he is having tummy-time! Push-Push, Logan!

Logan is real lucky to have two cousins who are so great with him. Colin and Caleb both love to give Logan hugs and kisses or play with his feet & toes whenever they see him!

Here is Mommy trying to dance Logan to sleep. Logan now enjoys listening to Elton John, preferably Goodbye Yellow Brick Road or Don't Go Breaking My Heart!

One of Daddy's new favorite ways to spend his time is to take naps with his boy.

Life is real rough when you're waiting for your next meal. In this picture we're trying to keep Logan awake so he can make it to his next meal and then fall asleep for his nap.

Here is a picture of Logan enjoying his swing. Mommy was finally able to get Logan to like his swing. (He used to only play in his swing for other people.) Now he thoroughly enjoys swinging and watching the toy owls fly above his head. Beware: Logan will only swing for about 10-15 minutes before he gets bored and wants to do something else, unless he falls asleep.

Here is Mr. Logan "kicking back" at his first 4th of July celebration. We drove out to Grandma Mary's house in Manteca and spent a few days there. Traveling was actually kind of difficult on the wee Logan. He missed his own bed and was unable to take naps.

Our First Month Together!

My, how time flies! I can't believe that an entire month has gone by. Mr. Logan is one month old. It makes me sooo sad to think that in two months, I'll be back to work. (Sigh!) So much has happened this past month. The first weekend after we left the hospital, Grandma Mary came to stay with us. (Thank God!) What would we have done without her? She cooked for us and helped us to take care of the baby. She helped to keep us sane. Since that weekend, we have had so many visitors. Grandpa Ed and Grandma Diane have had their weekly "Logan-time" bringing us goodies and treats. On Mondays, Grandma Helen comes to get her "Logan fix". We have also visited with so many others (the Bowers', the Swearengins, the Gallegos', the Moore/Hammonds, the Rappas, the Sages, the Ladds, the Jew Family, Michelley, the Schafer Park family, the Buffingtons, Shannon & Dave...the list goes on and on...)
During this month, Logan got to have his first bath by Mommy and Daddy. Let's just say that he didn't really care for it at all. He cried and screamed the entire time. Fortunately, thanks to the advice of Auntie Summer and Uncle Bryan, we warmed up the water and now he seems to enjoy them.
He has had several doctor appointments. His one-month appointment has put him in the 50th percentile for everything. He is currently 10 lbs. 7 oz., 21 1/4 inches long, and his head is 38 1/2 cm. in circumference. The doctor says that he is a textbook baby, absolutely perfect! (And we agree!) Yay!
Logan likes to spend his days being held by Mommy and Daddy. When he's not being held, he'll sit in his vibrating chair or the swing. He even likes to have "tummy-time"! Other than that, he eats, spits up, sleeps, and gets his diaper changed.
This month Robert got to celebrate his first Father's Day. Unfortunately, he had to work, but he got to come home to his baby boy, which made him happy!
Mommy spends her days taking care of Logan. We tried to go to Target together, just the two of us, but halfway through Logan decided he didn't care much for Target. We ended up abandoning everything in our cart and racing out of the store as quick as possible. Screaming Baby = No Target!
Logan has done so much growing in his first month. We can't wait to see what the month of July brings us!
